New collaboration takes a motif from Nikki van Elden's upcoming Charming Cheaters fabric release
SOHMO has teamed up with Nikki van Elden of Cotton Craft Designs to create a magnetic needle minder celebrating her upcoming fabric release, Charming Cheaters. The needle minder takes a motif from the collection and turns it into a small enamel piece, designed to keep your needle close and your colours bold.
A needle minder that celebrates quilting
Nikki designed this needle minder with the projects you pick up and put down in mind, the ones that travel in a bag, sit on the couch arm, and get a few stitches in whenever there's a spare moment. It's made to look good from any angle, so wherever it lands on your project, it's a bright little reminder of where your needle is.
The needle minder is available through SOHMO alongside the release of Charming Cheaters.
About the fabric: Charming Cheaters
Charming Cheaters is a playful nod to two much-loved quilting terms. "Charming" references precut mini charms (2.5"), while "Cheaters" comes from traditional 'cheater cloth', fabric designed to look pieced without the sewing.
The range combines the look of patchwork with the ease of printed fabric, which opens up plenty of creative possibilities. It suits Quilty Fashion projects such as quilt coats, dresses and bags, where you want the look of piecing without the bulk. It also works beautifully for wholecloth style projects, or as a statement centre block for quilt patterns, using a common precut size.
Whether you're looking to reduce seams, or simply enjoy the playful patchwork aesthetic, Charming Cheaters brings the look of quilting to your projects in a fresh and versatile way.
