I started SOHMO because I couldn’t find sewing tools I truly loved using. The kind that felt good in your hands, worked beautifully, and looked charming enough to leave out on the table. So many tools were overly bright, clunky or poorly made - and I wanted something better. Tools that felt considered, that respected the craft and the person using them.
I’ve always loved making things by hand. Sewing, mending, altering, fixing - there's a quiet satisfaction in it. And I knew I wasn’t alone. SOHMO was born from a desire to support that process, and to bring a sense of order and beauty to the small rituals of making. Every tin of pins, every pair of scissors, every label or needle is designed to be both useful and joyful and a pleasure to reach for again and again.
From our gold-plated embroidery scissors made in Italy, to our sturdy T Pins packed in a simple metal tin, everything is made with intention. I work with skilled manufacturers and heritage workshops around the world to create tools that are functional, well made and a little bit special. Tools that are a step up from the everyday, but still made to be used, not just admired.
SOHMO is for makers, menders, and the quietly particular. It’s for anyone who’s ever unpicked a hem or stitched on a button and taken pride in doing it well. I hope our tools become the kind you rely on, and the kind you keep.
