New collaboration celebrates the launch of Jackson Cook's Float Your Boat fabric collection
SOHMO has teamed up with Jackson Cook of Jackzon Quilts to celebrate the launch of his new fabric collection, Float Your Boat. To mark the occasion, the two have created a needle minder shaped like a tiny origami boat, a simple, bold little piece that captures exactly what the collection is all about.
A design that keeps it simple
The Float Your Boat needle minder takes the fold-lines and clean angles of an origami boat and turns them into a small enamel piece, bold and uncomplicated, and easy to spot on your work.
The needle minder is available now through SOHMO. Jackson's new Float Your Boat is distributed by KK Fabrics and is available at fabric retailers worldwide.
Meet the designer: Jackson Cook, Jackzon Quilts
Welcome to Jackzon Quilts, home to the fabric collections and quilting patterns of Australian designer Jackson Cook. With a background in production sewing, patchwork and longarm quilting, Jackson's fun and bold designs are made to delight makers, and to spark a bit of creativity along the way.
In Jackson's own words:
"Hi, I'm Jackson, a colourful creative who loves to quilt, sew and make cool things, and to design fabrics and patterns that bring joy to someone's day.
After sewing and quilting for many years, I always wanted to design my own work and turn sketches into something more practical that will bring joy to others, spark curiosity, and most importantly, look cool."
Jackson is also the owner of House of Jackson, a quilting fabric store [in Armadale] known and loved within the quilting community, and the creative force behind Jackzon Quilts. His work has been recognised at the highest level of the craft - most recently, Jackson took out Best Machine Quilting (Medium or Longarm Machine) at the Australasian Quilting Convention for his quilt, "My Vision."
